Getting Therapy

Is therapy right for me?

Many things can happen in our lives that can have a positive effect on us. However, they can also have a negative effect. Perhaps you are suffering from generalised anxiety, depression or a lack of motivation?

Therapy might be able to help you. I have worked with many clients suffering different presenting issues. Having a safe, non-judgemental space and someone who listens to your concerns, thoughts, feelings and emotions can provide a great sense of relief. It can be a starting point for you to work through some of the things that are holding you back.

There are many reasons that people choose to have counselling. I believe that, if you are struggling in life, with the right therapy and counsellor. It is possible to change, grow and achieve.

You get to decide whether counselling is right for you.

What kind of problems can therapy help with?

There are many different areas in which therapy can be of help; addiction, anxiety, depression, stress, sexual or physical abuse, relationship issues, work-related issues, eating disorders and many others .

I have never had counselling before, does that matter?

No of course not. Whether you have or have not had counselling before Castle Point Counselling hopes to provide you with a private, confidential and safe experience. It is normal to be apprehensive about anything new and unknown. As a qualified counsellor I have had my own personal counselling during my training. It helped me to understand myself better so that I can do the same for you.

How many counselling sessions do need?

You can have as few or many as you want. I offer open ended counselling sessions, you get to decide what is best for you. We will have regular reviews every 6 weeks, to help make sure you are moving towards your goals and that therapy is still right for you.

Can I have different counselling sessions, i.e. telephone and face to face?

Yes of course, while I believe that in most cases having face to face sessions provides a great environment for change. You can decide If you wish to change to a different type of session.

The initial telephone consultation is free, each session is charged at £50, whether face to face, online or by telephone. Payments can be made in cash, by debit card or via bank transfer

What if I need to change / cancel my counselling session?

Not a problem, you can cancel / change your mind. I will do my best to arrange an alternative time and date. At least 24 hours notice is required otherwise payment in full will be required for any missed counselling sessions.
